Tender Things is the final program of the RICMS season, and features intimate, passionate works by Brahms and Schubert. This music hearkens back to the Salon culture of the 19th century, where friendships and artistic connections formed in these spaces and bred chamber music masterpieces. Chamber music was, for Schubert and Brahms, a form of exchange and profound conversations between friends, musicians and artists. Partners in life as well as music, leading musical voices Sarah Darling (violist, founder of Grammy-winning ensemble A Far Cry) and April Sun (talented and visionary Boston pianist) celebrate friendship, family and artistic bonds in this special program and appearance at RICMS.
