Acclaimed violinist Aisslinn Nosky, concertmaster of The Handel and Haydn Society, America’s oldest baroque orchestra, joins fortepianist Yi-heng Yang in a stirring program of chamber music masterpieces that illuminate pivotal moments in musical history.
From Mendelssohn’s rarely heard arrangement of Bach’s epic Chaconne for violin and piano, to the early and late violin sonatas of Beethoven, the program traces a thrilling arc through the early 19th century, a time when musical form and expression were being transformed.
All are welcome at RIVAA Gallery. There is no entry fee, but a suggested donation of $25 for adults and $10 for students / seniors is appreciated.
