Viktor Ostapenko (born July 29, 1948, in Dushanbe, Tajikistan) is a contemporary artist whose work spans abstraction, landscape, still life, portraiture, watercolor, and sculpture. Raised in Kislovodsk, he received his professional training at the Art College in Makhachkala and later at the Kharkov Academy of Design. Over the course of his career, Ostapenko lived and worked in Ukraine and Russia before settling in New York, where he continues his artistic practice. His work is distinguished by technical mastery, expressive color, and a deeply personal visual language that explores nature, memory, spirituality, and the human experience. "For me, painting is a way of exploring both the visible and the invisible worlds. Throughout my artistic journey, I have worked in abstraction, landscape, still life, portraiture, and watercolor, always seeking to express the emotional and spiritual essence of my subjects rather than simply their outward appearance.
