Sophia Vitko
Painting
Born in Ukraine, Sophia Vitko is a New York–based contemporary artist whose work explores perception, consciousness, and the evolving relationship between humans and technology. Her paintings examine what shifts in human experience when the digital and the physical begin to blur — identity, presence, the way we see ourselves and each other. The recent work is about the moment we are actually in — augmented by phones, hooked into feeds, accompanied and increasingly replaced by AI. With a background in engineering and a self-taught artistic practice, Sophia combines analytical thinking with intuitive exploration. She also builds tools for artists — she created Artmywall, an app for visualizing artwork in interiors, and Wall Portfolio, a mobile portfolio builder for artists. Vitko's paintings have been exhibited in New York and are held in private collections. Her recent exhibitions include the solo exhibition Augmented Humanity at RIVAA Gallery, New York, a solo exhibition Fractality at The Octagon on Roosevelt Island, New York, a digital exhibition at Big Screen Plaza in Chelsea, New York, and group exhibitions at RIVAA and other New York galleries.
