Chamber Music & Concerts

About Concerts @RIVAA

Series Director: Yi-heng Yang

RIVAA Gallery Concerts are a feast for the eyes and ears. In the intimate and vibrant setting of the RIVAA art gallery, this concert series is the only one of its kind offered to audiences in New York City with a specific emphasis on Classical and Romantic chamber and solo repertoire played on historical instruments. Ranging in programs which use Mozart and Schubert-era pianos for beloved classical repertoire, to highlighting music of folk traditions and lesser-known composers, this series invites audiences into the arresting and authentic sound world of historical instruments. The sounds of period strings, winds and keyboards, played by leading musicians revive the excitement, creativity and chemistry of live music making. The concerts are curated and directed by Roosevelt Island resident Yi-heng Yang, who is faculty at The Juilliard School of Music and a leading historical keyboard player. Yang’s vision is to share world-class music-making and creative collaboration between world-class historical performance artists, bringing the best of period performance to New York City. RIVAA Gallery Concerts is an independently-run series fiscally sponsored by Fractured Atlas.
